Hello Women Do News champions!
To start, here’s a reminder that we have a year-end fundraising campaign happening! We’re looking for $20,000 in contributions to help keep us going strong into the new year — and an amazing donor has offered to put up half of that if we can raise the rest! We’ll use these funds in 2025 for help with project management, cover travel costs to speak and teach about editing on Wikipedia, and spread the word about the importance of representation of women and non-binary journalists online.
Thanks for your support!

Wikipedia is one of the most-visited sites globally maintained by a dedicated community of writers and editors. The Gather community has valuable skills to contribute, but navigating Wikipedia’s rules can be complex.
Gather and Women Do News are collaborating to help!
As a longtime Gather member, November curator Gracie McKenzie has noted recurring questions about submitting and editing pages without engaging in self-promotion. With Google leveraging Wikipedia content in AI summaries, accurate representation of news organizations is more important than ever.
Molly Stark Dean, a board member of Women Do News and WikiNYC and soon-to-be New School faculty will discuss editing and submitting pages, followed by an hour of hands-on work on community-submitted entries.

Can’t make it? Register anyway! We’ll email all registrants with ways to help us finish the project after our live session.
